WOW, WE DID THAT
Thank you to everyone who’s become a paid subscriber of The Care Package — we’re 50% funded towards our goal of giving away $500 to Asian women in 2022!!! Applications for funds are already rolling in, and I wanted to share one with you as an example of the community projects that you can bring to life by contributing to The Cosmos Care Fund :)
After over a decade of learning, discovering, and unlearning, as well as making a solo trip to the homeland, I can truly feel within my body that the Vietnamese people and our experiences are more than that of war. Our culture, like our people, is rich with stories and beautiful with nuances. To honor this, I put together a collection of three herbal blends that represent my connection to Vietnamese culture and the Vietnamese diaspora experience. I’m calling this project Tea & Thơ, thơ meaning both letter and poetry in Vietnamese. This tea collection is my love letter to my people and the stories they have told and the ones still left untold…
You can help us give away $500 to projects like this by becoming a paid subscriber for $5/month and $50/year!! Read more about the benefits of becoming a paid member here :)
Bibingka is a traditional Filipino sweet rice cake :)
I love that Bibingka Mama is so connected to her culture, and through her love of food and drag connects it to the world. She is a living cartoon. They are a bright spot in this dark time and make their bibingkas with love. I love that they are sharing their Filipino culture with the masses and making it accessible. - Kat L.
From Deux Cranes: We are handcrafted in Los Gatos by French-trained chocolatier Michiko Marron-Kibbey and designed by creative director Ayaka B. Ito as a nod to their Japanese heritage and the flavors of their youth.
Gorgeous chocolate bars and truffles! - Wilda W.
Get your supply of coffee beans from the 1st specialty Vietnamese coffee importer & roaster in the U.S. We love this starter kit which comes with a phin filter and a bag of coffee of your choice — Moxy is a delicious chocolate berry flavor, and it’s also my nickname!
Includes three of Diaspora Co.’s best-selling spices: Aranya Black Pepper, Sirārakhong Hāthei Chillies, and Pragati Turmeric.
I love everything about this queer South Asian woman-owned business! Their trio boxes are a winner — everything you need!! - Cosmos Community Member
The Classic Sampler Box contains *2 Earl Grey *2 Matcha *2 Rose Water *2 Lavender & Coconut *2 Salty Peanut cookies.
Cafe Warshafsky makes the most delightful shortbread in flavors like matcha and lavender & coconut. Mai is half Japanese and a childhood friend of mine. I know how much passion, grit, and hustle she's put into building her business from scratch (just like her shortbread!) and keeping it going over the years. And I love nothing more than seeing my friends doing awesome things and staying true to their path in life. - Yoko I.
Hello! My name is Hannah Bae and I'm the founder of Halmi, a new brand of light, sparkling beverages inspired by traditional Korean flavors. "Halmi" is a nickname for "halmoni", which means grandma in Korean.
We use real, quality ingredients with digestive properties, and recipes rooted in history and culture. As a very small and very new company, I aim to spread the love, support and knowledge to other current and upcoming small business owners, and connect on a real level with Halmi supporters!
Halmi is launching with one flavor/product to start - Cinnamon, Ginger, Jujube Persimmon — it's our take on a sparkling SuJeongGwa (sweetened spiced punch brewed to aid digestion).
Includes the East Asian Sampler + the Southeast Asian Sampler together in one — you get 12 starters total!
What a a great intro to authentic Asian cooking, plus super convenient for people who don’t have an Asian grocery store nearby or who want to try Asian recipes and are not sure where to start! - Mykhanh P.
Because boba lovers need their own bottle!!!
From The Boba Family: Constructed from durable, lightweight glass with a protective silicone sleeve & twist-off cap, this reusable bottle is a sustainable swap for disposable plastic bottles & metal canteens.
My favorite thing about Tuk Tuk Box is you can customize it by “funky” rating — !!
A Lil Funky: I like a good mix of sweet, salty, and spicy, but go easy on me! eg. Sweet Banana Chili Chips
Funky Fresh: My palate is quite cultured and I can handle most sweet, spicy, and even a little fishy. eg. Hot & Sour Seaweed
Funkylicious: I'm all in baby, give me what you got. I live for the funk! eg. Pandan Durian Wafers
This holiday collection brings together a variety of iconic mithai flavors handcrafted by chef Surbhi, including Salted Pecan Burfi, Kaju Katli, Pistchio Burfi, and more!!
My husband and I love their Mithai treats. They offer a variety of flavors and each colorful piece is vegetarian, with gluten-free, nut-free options too! Their gift assortments are stunning and we gift their sweets to our family and loved ones every year for Diwali and other special occasions. - Cosmos Community Member
